Qual dessas é a forma certa da frase em inglês:

''When children watch TV, a wide range of ideas, people and information is shown to them. ''
''When children watch TV, a wide range of ideas, people and information are shown to them. ''

Minha dúvida é com o uso de ''is'' ou ''are'' nessa frase.

The first clause is the correct, with "is", as long as it refers to the word "range", in singular

Magns: Thank you! I discussed this question with my english teacher today because it was on my test. She said that the ''are'' one was the correct one, but i believed it was the ''is'' one. Needed help to be sure, thx.
StRiGnAdO: No, not at all. At least for me it's obvious that the verb "to be" shall concord with the word "range", whence the verb must be in singular, with "is". You're right, and your teacher is wrong. Hugs
