x² - 6x - 16 = 0
a = 1, b = - 6, c = - 16
∆ = b² - 4ac
∆ = ( - 6 )² - 4 • 1 • ( - 16 )
∆ = 36 + 64
∆ = 100

x = - ( - 6 ) ± √100 / 2 • 1
x = 6 ± 10 / 2
x' = 6 + 10 / 2 = 16/2 = 8
x" = 6 - 10 / 2 = - 4/2 = - 2
S = { - 2, 8 }
