Agora vamos montar um sistema para encontrar os valores de "x" e "y" :

$(2x + y = 8) \times (5) \\ ( - 5x + 3y = - 9) \times (2) \\ \\ 10x + 5y = 40 \\ - 10x + 6y = - 18 \\ \\ 11y = 22 \\ y = 2$

Substituindo..
