Safes, knives, cities, safes, radios, bushes, men.
Some words ending in -f or -fe just need to have an -s added to form the plural, whereas others need to be changed to -ves. Some words, such as scarf, can have both suffix (scarfs and scarves).
Words ending in -sh need the -es suffix to form the plural.
Words ending in consonant -o might need -es or -s; there's no rule for that.
Words ending in cononant -y have the -y dropped and the -ies suffix added.
Men is an irregular plural form, so you have to memorise it.
