(charlotte,nc) mgr´s green community schools environmental justice club and leadership student at charlote-mecklenburg schools vance recently completed their 6 month,artsin action project: a life -size,recycled tree. inspiration for this project game from the desive to educate their peers about the amout of waste coming out of their cafeteria and classrooms on a daily basis. the tree is made completely from recycled items found around the school(with the exception of ckicken-wife to sculpt the trunk).materials included:old milk crates, string paper from classroom recycling bins,carboard boxes, styrofoam lunch trays,etc. ejc senior,katie foster ,said, `the tree taught me that if we work together to recycle and cherish the environment,others will follow´. these students proved that you cantryly make something amazing out of what others we was trash.the tree is now showcased in the middle of the cafeteria,remeding students of the importance of praticing the words,´reduce,reuse,recycle´
