Ray L. Birdwhistell was an American anthropologist who studied nonverbal communication. He was born in 1918 and died in 1994.
Birdwhistell was very interested in nonverbal communication, so, he, decided to base most of this studies on this subject.
He found people seemed to transmit information through speaking, eye movements, facial expressions etc. There forms of nonverbal communication are used involuntarily. This was very fascinating to Birdwhistell.
He wrote two book about nonverbal communication
