Como identificar o tempo verbal em inglês?
Assim como em português, o tempo verbal é facilmente identificado reconhecendo onde está o verbo. Se o verbo terminar em ''ed'' o verbo é considerado ''regular'' e a frase estará no passado. Se tiver ''will'', a frase estará no futuro.
The kids played soccer yesterday.
My brothers studied hard for the tests.
My father washed his car this morning.
I will watch a movie tonight.
Onde o verbo está?
Normalmente, o verbo está após o sujeito, em frases afirmativas e negativas. Localize na frase um nome próprio (nome de pessoa, cidade, estado, etc.) A palavra que virá em seguida, normalmente, é o verbo.
John is my brother. >> afirmativa verbo ''to be''
Helen plays tennis after school. >>> afirmativa
Helen doesn't play tennis. >>> negativa
London is smaller than São Paulo.
Na interrogativa (will), o verbo vai estar sempre após o sujeito e ''will'' no início da frase
Will Helen play tennis?
Will you do your homework in the afternoon?
