Was e Were

Na língua inglesa, temos palavras que tratam do verbo ser ou estar, elas são conhecidas como verbo to be, e assim como qualquer outro verbo em inglês, verifica-se a presença de passado para esses verbos, que no caso, são as palavas was e were.

O was será usado em sentenças nas quais o sujeito está no singular, ou seja, quando tivermos apenas um sujeito na frase, já o were será usado quando tivermos um sujeito que está no plural, isto é, mais de um sujeito na frase. Sendo assim, usamos was com I, he, she e it, e were com you, we e they.
