Explicação:

Simple Past

No Simple Past, já vimos que as ações ocorrem sempre em um tempo determinado  no passado, e por isso é comum encontrarmos a presença de marcadores  de tempo, tais como, yesterday (ontem), last night (a noite passada), last Sunday  (domingo passado), last month (o mês passado), last year (o ano passado), some  minutes ago (alguns minutos atrás), this morning (hoje de manhã), etc.

Quando utilizamos o Simple Past, para nos referirmos a ações que ocorreram  em um tempo definido no passado, subentende-se que essas ações estão completamente  finalizadas, ou seja, nenhuma reação referente a elas recai ou tem interferência  sobre o presente momento.

Present Perfect

Em contraste com o Simple Past, há o Present Perfect, tempo verbal que não  tem um correspondente na Língua Portuguesa, o que torna, às vezes, o seu entendimento  e uso um tanto complicado para os aprendizes da Língua Inglesa.

O Present Perfect é um tempo verbal que expressa uma ação no passado, cujo  tempo é desconhecido ou não importante no contexto. O que importa quando  usamos esse tempo verbal é a ênfase que se dá à reação da ação, que interfere no  presente e não a ação em si. Podemos dizer que é um tempo verbal passado com  uma forte relação com o presente.

É muito comum, com o uso do Present Perfect, a ocorrência de alguns advérbios  de frequência que não indicam tempo definido:

Just: acabar de

Ever: já / alguma vez no sentido de experiência vivida

Already:  já no sentido de tempo

Never: nunca

Yet: já: em perguntas afirmativas / ainda: sentenças negativas

Since: desde

For: por
