Making plurals from singular nouns ending in 'f' and 'fe'
Usually, when a word ends in 'f' or 'fe' we change the 'f' to 'v' and add 'es' or 's' to make it plural. Make plurals from these singular nouns.
1. loaf
2. calf
3. half
4. knife
5. life
6. thief
7. wife
8. leaf
9. shelf
10. wolf
Click on the Finished button to see how many you have right. Go back and check any words that are not ticked. Some 'f' endings do NOT change to 'ves' when they become plural (e.g. cliff changes to cliffs). Now use a dictionary to find some more examples.
