Aprendemos em atividades anteriores a fazer o passado de alguns verbos irregulares. Lembram-se?

Pois bem, vamos rever alguns. Olhem as formas verbais abaixo:

Verbos Irregulares:

to come - came to eat - ate

to do - did to drink - drank

to get - got to go - went

to have - had to put - put

to read - read to see - saw

to sit - sat to speak - spoke

to take - took to write - wrote



Na primeira coluna há um verbo no infinitivo (com “TO”) e, na segunda, um verbo conjugado no passado (em negrito). Assim sendo, analise estes exemplos:



I came to school at 7 o’clock.

I drank juice for lunch.

I saw Mary Ann downtown this morning.

I took James to the movies last Friday.

Hoje, iremos transformar frases que estejam no passado simples, da forma afirmativa para a forma negativa. Para isso, precisaremos do auxiliar do passado simples “DID” e do advérbio negativo NOT.

Acompanhe o processo:



Afirmativa:

I came to school at 7 o’clock.



Negativa:

I did not come to school at 7 o’clock.



Observe que quando transformamos a oração da afirmativa para a forma negativa, o verbo principal volta à forma original sem “TO”. Outra possibilidade a se observar é que, pode-se optar pela forma DIDN’T ao invés de DID NOT:

I didn’t come to school at 7 o’clock.

Pois bem, agora passe as seguintes orações para a negativa:



1- I wanted to go to your house yesterday.

9- He traveled from Los Angeles to São Paulo on Wednesday.

10- David left home for work at 7 am last Friday.
