O Past Continuous é um tempo verbal utilizado para indicar ações contínuas que ocorreram no passado.

O Past Continuous é formado pela união do verbo auxilar to be conjugado no Simple Past + gerúndio (-ing adicionado ao final do verbo principal).

As conjugações do verbo "to be" no Simple Past são:

Was é para I, he, she, it; e

Were é  para we, you, they.

Forma Afirmativa

As frases afirmativas seguem a estrutura:

Sujeito + was ou were + Verbo principal com –ing + complemento

Exemplo: He was going to work. / Ele estava indo trabalhar.

Contrações

Was not => wasn't

Were not => weren't

Forma Negativa
