Explicação:
Simple Past
No Simple Past, as ações ocorrem sempre em um tempo determinado no passado, e por isso é comum encontrarmos a presença de marcadores de tempo, tais como, yesterday (ontem), last night (a noite passada), last Sunday (domingo passado), last month (o mês passado), last year (o ano passado), some minutes ago (alguns minutos atrás), this morning (hoje de manhã), etc.
Forma Interrogativa
O did é o verbo auxiliar utilizado para as frases interrogativas no Simple Past e deve ser colocado no início da frase. Mas o verbo principal da frase não é conjugado no passado, ele contunia no presente.
Veja a estrutura abaixo:
Did + sujeito + verbo principal + complemento
Exemplo: Did she like the English teacher?
(Ela gostou da professora de inglês?)
Forma Interrogativa com o Verbo "to be" como verbo principal
Quanto o verbo "to be" é o verbo principal da frase, basta colocar o verbo no início da frase. Lembrando a conjugação do verbo "to be" no passado é: Was para I, He, She, It
Were para You, We, They
Ex.:
Was she a student?
(Ela é era uma aluna?)
Were we late?
(Nós estávamos atrasados?)
