First Conditional

O exercício apresenta frases escritas na first conditional, formada por sentenças condicionais. Elas são compostas por duas orações (a principal e a subordinada), que se relacionam estabelecendo uma condição para que algo aconteça, ou a possível consequência de determinada atitude que você ou alguém tomar.

Na primeira condicional, a oração principal fica no futuro simples e a subordinada, no presente, com "if" ("se").

A estrutura é a seguinte, nas frases afirmativas:  

  • If + sujeito + verbo no simple present + sujeito + will + verbo.
  • If +     we    + dump all sorts of chemicals into rivers + we + will + die soon.

Mas pode apresentar ordem inversa:

  • Sujeito + will + verbo + if + sujeito + verbo no presente simples
  • Soon the Earth’s resources + will + be exhausted + if + the human population + continues + to grow.

Para perceber como as frases se complementam, basta seguir a lógica relacionada ao conteúdo. Ex.:

  • You will be late... if you do not hurry up.
  • Você irá se atrasar... se não se apressar.
