The Cuban Revolution was led by Fidel Castro, leader of a guerrilla group installed inside Cuban territory. The guerrilla group led by Fidel sought to overthrow the dictatorship of Fulgêncio Batista, installed in the country since 1952 through a military coup. After coming and going, the movement settled in Sierra Maestra and carried out attacks, which resulted in the overthrow of the Cuban government.

The new Cuban government that was established had Fidel Castro as his great name and made a series of changes in the country that attracted the attention of the United States. The dissatisfied Americans broke off relations with Cuba and tried to overthrow the Cuban government in 1961. The breakdown of relations with the US resulted in the Cubans' alliance with the Soviet Union.

Hope this helps.
