Asthma is a difficulty in breathing. Allergic or bronchial, asthma is caused
by an abnormal sensitivity to certain substances that are inhaled (such as

drugs and insect stings), or which come in contact with the skin.
The individual may also be sensitive to organisms that infect the
respiratory system. Asthma may appear at any age. Often several members of
the same family are affected.
