That humanity can be very selfish, we already know. That the division of classes exists and
negatively affects millions of people, we also know. But what happens when a movie sets out to
open it up on the screen? Bloody, cruel and surprising?
In the Netflix movie The Platform, the main character of this story, wakes up in a gray and dark
cell, accompanied by an old man. In the middle of the room, a huge, rectangular hole, through
which you can see both the top and bottom cell. They are on the 48th floor.
Once a day, a huge platform descends from the top floor and fits into the hole in the floor. In it,
leftover food, dirty dishes, broken glasses, trampled food. That's what they have to get by. The
ones on the top floors do not take in consideration the others on the bottom floors.
The Platform is not a film that will please all viewers, and perhaps this is its purpose, but it is
importante because it makes us see drastically situations that we are experiencing in our reality
or maybe we can live one day.
