IMPACT OF VIDEO GAMES ON ADOLECESCENTS
(1)Today 97% of tens in the U.S. Play video games, and sales of video games are growing. this
popular form of media has both positive and negative effects on children.
(2) The most widely acknowledged "positive" impact is that video game may help children improve
their computer literacy. Ever-improving technology also provides players with better graphics that give
a more realistic" virtual playing experience.
(3)However, studies also show that video games with violent contente are linked to more agressive
behavior in tens. This is a concem because most of popular video games contain violence.
(4)Part of the increase in agressive behavior is linked to the amount of time children are allowed to
play video games- and daily media use by children is increasing significantly.
(5)Research has also found that, controlling for prior aggression, children who played more violent
games during the beggining of the school year showed more aggression than other children later in
