Adjectives in COMPARATIVE form follow two rules:
1) If the adjective has two syllables or less, you should add “-er” at the end.
Example:
big — biggER than...
smart — smartER than...
2) if the adjective is long, you should just add “more” before it.
Example:
MORE beautiful than...
MORE intelligent than...

Adjectives in SUPERLATIVE form follow two rules:
1) If the adjective has 2 syllables or less, you should add “-est” at the end.
Example:
fat — fattEST
small — smallEST

2) If the adjective is long, you should just add “the most” before it.
Example:
THE MOST beautiful...
THE MOST expensive...
