William Shakespeare was an english poet, actor and playwright, who worked in his career between the 16th and 17th centuries. His most famous works of the time (and known to this day) are Romeu and Julieta, and Macbeth.

Shakespeare was a member of a wool merchant family, and had an education considered important for the time, although he had to interrupt his studies after a sudden impoverishment of his family.

A curiosity about his death is that it occurred on the same day that another important European writer died: Miguel de Cervantes.
