Explicação:

little é usado pra algo incontável como espaço, tempo e massa, como por exemplo "I ate little cake" (nesse caso não usamos "a" antes do little pois não estamos falando de tamanho e sim quantidade); já "few" é usado para coisas contáveis como pessoas, objetos, etc, exemplo: "the store closed earlier due to few clients".
