Read the definitions of some phrasal verbs with the verb “turn”, number the pictures according to witch phrasal verb they illustrate and write a sentence about each of the pictures with the correspondent phrasal verbs.
1) Turn away = to move you are not looking at something;
2) Turn on = to make something work, especially electric or electronic devices;
3) Turn off = to make something stop working, especially electric or electronic devices;
4) Turn down = to refuse an offer;
5) Turn out = to empty something (usually a container) completely;
6) Turn up = to appear unexpectedly;
7) Turn in = to deliver, to return something to an organization or a person in authority.
