Não consigo responder da outra forma então vou comentar. A 1° e a 3° oração estão corretas, a 2° e a 4° não. No singular, o verbo to be é "is", no plural é "are"
na verdade é única correta é a D mesmo

a 1° elephants ta no plural então seria Are; na 2° está se referindo a Carla e Caio = Eles = They, logo, usaria Are; na 3° ta se referindo a Tom e Eu = Nós = We, usaria Are também; e na última ta se referindo as meninas e os meninos = eles = they, então Are tbm
na primeira não percebi que era "elephants" ;--; porém, para mim, a última, a 4°, é que contém 'aren't'"
