Resposta: The beauty dictatorship is a very present problem, not only in Brazil but in several countries. This must be faced, since, on a daily basis, minorities said to be "non-standard" suffer prejudice because they are different. This is proven by the media to dictate a pattern, and make everyone follow it, causing psychological problems for those who do not have the body said to be ideal.
This scenario, together with the beauty industry that ends up inducing people that the perfect and beautiful body is excessive thinness, contributing to eating disorders, such as being affectionately called ana [anorexia] and mia [bulimia]. Add to that the sites for this disorder, which encourage girls to continue in search of the perfect body, compromising their health.
Having a single standard of beauty in a world as large and full of diversity as this is the biggest bullshit ever invented, as each has its unique and irrevocable beauty. However, what is seen in different parts of the world are girls obsessed with excessive thinness, trying to be the women of the magazine. Thus, measures are necessary to correct the problem.
In view of the aforementioned arguments, it is the duty of the State to prohibit the spread of excessively thin women as a perfect body, and to place the “ordinary” woman being represented in magazines, as representativeness is very important, in addition to imposing stricter laws and more severe punishments for those who do not comply with them. Added to this is the creation of campaigns that promote self-love, together with the awareness of society that the perfect body does not exist. The media imposes a standard of beauty upon which people must stand in order to be socially accepted, but this is unattainable for many. In this way, thousands of people who are slaves to the beauty industries are seen, eventually losing even the will to live because they feel excluded, prefer to modify their appearance through dangerous medications and diets to try to satisfy what is publicly accepted.
Despite the country being in a huge economic crisis, the beauty industry is getting bigger and more influential. Such popularization and standardization lead women from all over the world, who cannot reach this standard, to resort to the most extreme of methods to approach the line of perfection, such as excessive plastics and eating disorders.
Since a concept for beauty was created, problems such as bulemia and anorexia have become very common. This obsessive search for the pinnacle of perfection scares people around the world. It is difficult to combat these problems when even professional models are subjected to unusual treatments, all caused by low esteem as a result of the standards imposed and disseminated by the media.
The rules for appearance even reach cultural parameters of different regions. In China the concept of beauty is white women with small feet, and what is seen as beautiful varies from country to country. But problems with failed attempts to become what is socially imposed on it occur worldwide, so that the fight against abuses in changes in the body itself is a problem for the whole world.
The change in thinking about them needs to start early, through education. Thus, the person grows out of these aesthetic concepts and improves his self-acceptance. The concept of beauty changes over time, and it should be a cultural and personal issue. Forcing yourself to go into other patterns would be like cultural expropriation and, possibly, problems with self-acceptance. There is nothing wrong with wanting to look good with the mirror through minor surgeries and diets, but everything must be done with professional monitoring and respecting the limits of your body.
