1) As frases escritas corretamente de acordo com o tempo verbal dentro dos parênteses ficam da seguinte maneira:

a) Mike wasn't the best racer I've ever seen. (Simple past negative)

Mike was the best racer I've ever seen. (Simple past affirmative)

b) Motherhood was a job qualification nowadays. (Simple past affirmative)

Is Motherhood a job qualification nowadays? (Simple present interrogative)

Para passar as frases para o simple past, deve lembrar que a forma do verbo to be "Is" é "Was". Portanto, basta trocá-la dentro da frase de acordo com o sujeito, sendo que nas sentenças negativas devemos usar a partícula Not. Já em frases interrogativas, devemos lembrar de inverter o verbo com o sujeito e, posteriormente, completar com o objeto.
