Landlocked aquatic dinosaur or fantasy of folklore? Whatever the truth, the legend of the Loch Ness Monster (Nessie) has drawn tourists to this picturesque part of Scotland for decades, and Hollywood has invested millions in Nessie in the form of a big-budget movie. Naturally, this ought to increase the public fascination with the creature that supposedly inhabits the depths of the lake. Magazines and nwespapers were sent a photograph of the monster by a surgeon. Many people report their sightings at the lake. Over the years many expeditions were formed to find the monster. Nessie isn't the only fish in the sea. There are plenty other stories about watery dinosaurs from Australia to Canada. There's a "Chessie" monster supposedly lurking in the Chesapeake Bay, and a "Champ" may baunt the waters of Lake Champlain. From giant squids reminiscent of Jules Veme stories to mega-mouthed sharks, you'll find lots of reasons to never go in the water again.
