My visit to the National Gallery
BY SUPERTOMBLOG ON OCTOBER 21, 2012
Yesterday, I went to the National Gallery inLondon with my family. I’ve been learning aboutVan Gogh at school and we went there to see hispaintings called the Sunflowers, the Chair and alsoCezanne’s The Bathers. I almost fainted when I sawactual real life Van Gogh paintings! They were waybigger than I expected and I could see Van Gogh’soil paints stand out from the canvas because it wasso thick. I couldn’t pick a favourite painting becauseI liked the whole gallery actually! In the gift shop Ibought some postcards and a “mini masterpiece” kitso that I could do my own masterpiece at home.So today I did the mini masterpiece. I decidedto paint some fruits and a painting for my mum.The fruit was called a “still life” and Van Gogh andCezanne both liked doing them so I told mum I wasbeing “a bit like Cezanne”!
