*️⃣ Para formar sentenças que expressam um passado interrompido no tempo verbal (Past Continuous) é preciso necessariamente do verbo ‘‘To Be’’ no passado (was/were) e o verbo principal da frase no gerúndio.

*️⃣ E se quiseres formar sentenças interrogativas a regra é colocar ‘was ou were’ antes do sujeito da frase e o verbo principal ainda continua no gerúndio.

• Was he sleeping ?
• Were they working ?

*️⃣ Já para formar sentenças negativas a regra é acrescentar o 'not' após o ‘was' ou ‘were’ ficando assim:

• I was not reading a book.
• You were not singing.
