\large\boxed{\begin{array}{l}\rm f(x)=2x+\dfrac{1}{2}\\\\\rm 2x+\dfrac{1}{2}=0\\\\\rm 2x=-\dfrac{1}{2}\\\\\rm 4x=-1\\\\\rm x=-\dfrac{1}{4}\end{array}}

f ( x ) = 2x + 1/2

0 = 2x + 1/2

- 2x = 1/2

x = - 1 / 4
