Explicação:

WILL é mais usado para falar de coisas espontâneas, planos decididos na hora, sem planejamento prévio.

Já GOING TO é usado quando há planejamento, quando algo foi decidido previamente. Também é possível usá-lo quando há evidências e fatos suficientes para fazer uma previsão acertada, como quando falamos do tempo.
