O cristo Redentor foi construído na década de 20, quem teve a grande ideia de construir o cristo no topo do morro do Corcovado foi o sacerdote francês Pierre Marie Boss, a estatua está a 709 metros acima do nível do mar, pesa 1145 toneladas é feito de concreto armado e pedra-sabão, com 28 metros de largura, levou 5 anos para ficar pronta, foi inaugurada no dia 12 de outubro de 1931.
Esta localizada no Parque Nacional da Tijuca, com vista para a maior parte da cidade do Rio de Janeiro, o Cristo recebe em médio 2.500 visitantes por dia, uns vão orar, agradecer, casar outros apenas para tirar fotos, admirar, ver a vista.

It took five years to be finshed and it was inaugurated on October 12th, 1931.
Is located in the National Park of Tijuca overlooking the most part of the city of Rio de Janeiro. The christ receives on average 2.500 visitors per day. Some people goes to pray, to thank, to married and others just go to take photos, to admire and to see the view.
