⟩⟩ As expressões ( there was e there were ) servem para indicar a existência de algo, porém não algo qualquer e sim algo que alguém tivera em algum momento no tempo passado.

⟩⟩ Usamos o ‘‘there was’’ para indicar algo do singular e podemos afirmar, perguntar ou até mesmo negar usando a mesma regra do verbo to be no presente.

⟩⟩ Já a expressão ‘‘there were’’ é usada para indicar coisas do plural, quando queremos dizer que tivemos algumas coisas no passado, e também podendo perguntar, negar usado também a mesma regra do verbo to be.
