Olha só, para usarmos was e were precisamos da regrinha, que é bem simples:

Para os pronomes I, he, she e it, sempre utilizamos o WAS.

Já para os pronomes we, you e they, usamos o WERE.

Sabendo disso, podemos responder as questões:

Viu o I na frase? Quer dizer que você deve escolher o was!
