1) i saw Sue in town yesterday, but she did not see me, she looked the other way.

2) i met Tom and Jane at the airport a few weeks ago, they went to Paris and i went to Rome. We had a chat while we waited for our flights.

3) i cycled home yesterday when a man stepped out into the road in front of me. i was going quite fast, but luckily, i managed to stop in time and did not hit him.
