You are a Journalist

He was a smart student, when he was young

she was a teacher last year

Acho que você quis dizer "_ we policiman yesterday?"

O que é estranho pois não vemos muito perguntas com está forma de "To be we" mais acho que a melhor opição séria "were we policiman yesterday?"

This year,you are actors(plural,por isso não o usamos o artigo "a")

They weren't waiters last night

she wasn't a doctor last afternoon(after-depois noon-meio dia)

He is Michael

are you my brother?

He is my father(geralmente usam "dad" no lugar de "father")

is she,my mother?(mais usual "mon")

We are cousins

You are my aunts(tias)

They are my grandparents

Jader48: no caso de poder usar combinações essas duas seriam "where is he,my brother" and "where is she,my mother" ;)
