Verb There to be ( presente tense )

1-Singular:

There is in egg in the box . ( Há um ovo na caixa.)

There is a Bird in the nest. ( Há um pássaro no ninho.)

No singular ( com um ser apenas ) , usa se a expressão there is.

2-Plural:

There are eggs in the box. ( Há ovos na caixa.)

There are birds in the nest. ( Há pássaros no ninho.)

No plural (com mais de um ser), usa – se a expressão there are .
