Last week I visited my, 92-year-old grandmother for the last time. I'm glad I did
so because in that long and pleasing conversation, I got to know my grandma better,
before she left us forever. The lines below show what she said, smiling...
You know, Lucy, you should not get sad when I finish my time here. I have loved
and been loved. I have traveled to amazing places and I have met interesting people who
improved my existence as they came along the
way.
I have had three brilliant kids who
made me
really proud. These three children I had have given me the joy by conceiving six
other kids who have been the sunshine of life since they were born. I cannot
• say my
life was perfect, but whenever sorrows showed up, your grandfather holding
my hand and making the burden a little less heavy. I have written
my
books, planted
some trees and had kids. What else could I expect from life?
