Verbos terminando em ''- ing''

Primeiramente, aprendemos que para fazer o ''present continuous'', ou seja, para falarmos sobre algo que está acontecendo no momento em que se fala, usamos o verbo ''to be'' + verbo terminando em ''- ing''. Veja os exemplos abaixo:

  • She is studying English.
  • My parents are going to the grocery.
  • My dog is sleeping.
  • I am working now.

Mas nem sempre um verbo terminando em ''-ing'' significa que está no ''present continuous'', porque esse sufixo ''-ing'' pode ser usado de outras maneiras, como abaixo:

O sufixo ''-ing''  pode ser usado para formar:

  • swim - nadar
    swimming - natação
  • learn - aprender

I have Down syndrome. But I'm a normal teenager.  Even though I have Down syndrome my life is  alot like yours.  I read books and watch TV. I listen to music with my friends.  I'm on the swim team and in chorus at school.
