Which of the alternative is grammatically correct?

P.S.: Could you please explain your answer to me? Why didn't you choose another alternative? Please explain it to me using grammatical rules?

a) How I regret to have told her the truth! I wish I had said her only a white lie
b) How I regret telling her the truth! I wish I had told her a white lie
c) How I regret telling her the truth! I wish I haven’t told her a white lie
d) How I regret saying the truth to her! I wish I hadn’t told her the truth

The answer is b)

a) Is not acceptable because you only use "i regret TO" when your want to be formal.

c) The sentence doesnt make sense because in the first part you said that you regret telling her the truth , and in the second part you said the opposite , saying that you told her a lie.

d)And the last is not acceptable because the second part repeats what the first part says , and it's not necessary in the context
