Carmem Monarcha is a brasilian soprano singer.she was born on August 27, 1979 in Belém, pará. her father, josé Gaspar, is a writer and her mother, Marina Monarcha, a renowned Brasilian singer.she learned to play the cello and the piano from a young age, but later she began to develop her singing voice and started taking lessons.

After finishing her schooling, she went to the Netherlands. while she was there, Carmem was hired as a vocalist by conductor André Rieu to tour Europe and the united states with the johann strauss Orchestra.
